Client: SMU Perkins School of Theology
Project Type: Branding, Publication, Infographics

While the Perkins School of Theology is part of SMU, they wanted to have a unique look and feel to their sub brand that set them apart and appealed to their subset of prospective students that are pursuing a theology degree.

They requested a rebrand that offered a fresh new look that reflected the school’s nurturing and hospitable environment, cultural relevance, practical and innovative academics, and vibrant community. The school’s new tagline “Called to Serve, Empowered to Lead” guided the process.

Developing a sub brand is especially challenging. It is a balance of embracing and supporting the parent brand while creating guidelines that allow the unique identifiers of the sub brand to complement and not compete with the parent brand. Paper Patina worked with Perkins and the SMU integrated marketing team to meet these challenges and help Perkins move into a new era of preparing students for ministry.

The project included a complete overhaul of existing collateral including brochures, signage, recruiting material, infographics, brand guide, and more.
